Learn to Kayak

Kayak lessons are taught at the Route 66 Boathouse, 3115 E. Overholser Dr. at Lake Overholser, and at the Chesapeake Boathouse, 725 S. Lincoln Blvd. in downtown OKC.

Learn kayak basics in this series of three lessons, then you’re ready to start training with the sprint kayaking team. Fridays, 5-6 p Route 66 Boathouse 3 Sessions / Cost $40 [register]

Discover Kayaking
This 1.5 hour class covers the basic strokes, maneuvering techniques and general safety rules for this easy-to-learn water sport. A perfect introduction to either sprint or recreational paddling, or to get you comfortable in a boat before you try it while on vacation! Ages 8+  Cost is $35 per person. This class is offered Saturdays from March – October. Some sessions are held at the Route 66 Boathouse and some are at the Chesapeake Boathouse. Click on the links for times, dates and locations.
