Youth Learn to Canoe/Kayak
Kayaking is a great way for youth to get active and have fun! Participants can start with classes offered in Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons at both the Oklahoma River downtown and the Route 66 Boathouse at Lake Overholser.
RIVERSPORT Youth Learn to Canoe/Kayak
No Experience Required • $125 • Ages 8-16
Are you looking for a cool, new one of a kind sport for your children? Check out Youth Learn to Canoe/Kayak! Youth ages 8-16 learn basic to intermediate paddling skills in an assortment of racing kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards and dragon boats. Lessons will be twice per week throughout the spring, summer and fall seasons at the Boathouse District located downtown at the Oklahoma River and at the Route 66 Boathouse on the shores of Lake Overholser. Each season includes at least one Saturday fun youth canoe/kayak competition for the whole family to watch. Enrollment is open to girls and boys ages 8-16; previous paddling experience is not required and we provide all the equipment!
As paddling skills increase, program participants become eligible to represent Oklahoma City at local and national competitions by joining the RIVERSPORT Junior Canoe/Kayak Team!

RIVERSPORT JUNIOR CANOE/KAYAK TEAM
The RIVERSPORT Junior Canoe/Kayak Team gives kids the opportunity to race in Olympic-style sprint canoe/kayak competitions – fun, exciting and a great way to get involved in one of America’s fastest growing water sports.
The RIVERSPORT Junior Canoe/Kayak Team is co-ed and open to youth ages 10-19. Practices are held after school and on weekends at the Boathouse District located downtown at the Oklahoma River or at our Route 66 Boathouse at Lake Overholser. Cost starts at $75 per month.
