100 Days to London – Will You Be Ready?

April 18 marks 100 days to the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games in London and Oklahoma City is gearing up to show our Olympic Spirit! Now’s the time to get on the road to London…

2012 Olympic Team Trials • Canoe/Kayak
Oklahoma City will host the 2012 Olympic Team Trials • Canoe/Kayak on April 20-21 at the Oklahoma River. The trials will feature several athletes who train at the OKC National High Performance Center, including several Oklahoma City University athletes and local junior paddler Dylan Puckett, age 16.

Paddle Now! Youth Experience
We’re discovering America’s next generation of Olympic athletes, right now on the Oklahoma River. The Paddle Now! Youth Experience, 12-2p on Saturday, April 21,will give kids grades two through nine the opportunity to get in a canoe, kayak, dragon boat or stand up paddle board with elite athletes. Young paddlers will also be invited to join our RIVERSPORT Youth Canoe/Kayak League…the first step toward becoming a world-class canoe/kayak athlete. Paddle Now! is free but online registration is encouraged [register].

Row to London
OKC RIVERSPORT is joining USRowing in the Row to London campaign. It’s 7,734,000  meters from Oklahoma City to London, and you can help us get there! Send your meters rowed in a boat or on an indoor erg to us via email and you’ll receive a special invitation to join us at our OKC watch party for the Opening Ceremonies of the 2012 Olympic Games.  We’re also inviting everyone to make a cash donation to support USRowing athletes, many of whom live and train here in OKC  [donate].

Stars & Stripes River Festival
Join us Saturday, June 30 at the Oklahoma River to celebrate America’s Olympic athletes in Fourth of July style! The festival will include Olympic Day in OKC celebrations and interactive activities, including an opportunity to Row to London by logging meters on an indoor rowing machine.
