• USA Canoe/Kayak Nationals, August 26-29
See the nation’s top kayakers compete on the Oklahoma River when the USA Canoe/Kayak Nationals returns to Oklahoma City, August 26-29 . The event includes events in the K1, K2, K4 and C1, C2, C4 for athletes in all age categories.
• OKC RIVERSPORT Challenge, August 28
Watch OKC metro kids in their first kayak-bike-run race on the Oklahoma River! The race is open to all youth ages 8-12; contact us if your child is interested in participating. Adult racing includes age-bracketed 500m kayak racing followed by a 5k run. Olympic coach Shaun Caven will offer two kayak training sessions for adult registrants, and kayak rentals are available for those interested in additional training. The race fee is $35 and registration is now open. [register]
• Head of the Oklahoma and Oklahoma Regatta Festival, October 7-10
The Oklahoma Regatta Festival and Head of the Oklahoma regatta return to the Oklahoma River October 7-10, 2010. Oklahoma City’s premier fall event, the Oklahoma Regatta Festival is a four day celebration of rowing, kayaking, dragon boating and family fun on the Oklahoma River. This year’s festival includes the blu VIP Party and Devon Boathouse grand opening, a national coaching clinic, OCU Head of the Oklahoma racing, OGE NightSprints…and a family festival featuring live music, art, a children’s area, food from some of Oklahoma City’s best restaurants, a wine garden, and a front row seat for all the racing!
