High Altitude Training

High altitude training can give you the competitive edge you’ve been looking for – and it’s here at the Devon Boathouse. Designed for OKC National High Performance Center and OCU athletes, athletes from across the metro now have access to this unique training opportunity through RIVERSPORT.

Training at altitude (up to 12,000 feet) in the High Altitude Chamber, the body adapts to the lack of oxygen by increasing red blood cells, altering muscle metabolism and increasing VO2 max. Combine high altitude workouts with your regular training and see what a difference it makes in speed, strength, endurance and recovery time. As with all exercise, consult with your physician before undertaking high altitude training.

The High Altitude Chamber can accommodate up to four athletes per session. Cycling, rowing machines and incline treadmill available.

Guest passes can be purchased online; discounted sessions can be purchased from the High Performance Center desk in the Devon Boathouse (second floor).
