Run & Walk Free Program
OKC’s Weekly Novice Running and Walking Program on the Oklahoma River Trails
6p Tuesdays, April 3 through October 30, at the Chesapeake Boathouse
Have you always wanted to become a runner or walker, but never knew where to start? Or maybe you just want to improve your own health and wellness by getting outdoors and becoming more active?
RIVERSPORT’S fun and free novice run/walk program on the Oklahoma River Trails will get you moving and feeling great!
This organized weekly event is free and open to all ages and experience levels. The program begins with a 30-minute educational Q&A forum with top local experts in the running community, Red Coyote Running and Fitness. Ask your running questions about technique, stretching, hydration, recovery, injury avoidance, proper shoe sizing and more.
Following the pre-run/walk clinic we will break into smaller groups and depart from the Chesapeake Boathouse, 725 S. Lincoln Blvd, just south of Bricktown. The run and walk will last approximately 15-30 minutes and will vary in total distance according to the abilities of the runners and walkers in each group.
This is a novice program so don’t be intimidated, even if you’ve never run before in your life. You can do it and we will show you how!
Free parking is available in the lot near the trails, as well as the lot off the north side of 6th street.
