RIVERSPORT Trailhead Bike Park – Now Open!

RIVERSPORT’s newly expanded Trailhead Bike Park is now open! The park offers a mountain bike skills course plus three world-class mountain bike/BMX courses for the bike, skateboard and skate communities and the Wheelhouse serving fresh Eote’ coffee, fruit smoothies and more.

One of the more unique features of the project is a new elevated trail that travels across the rooftop of the shipping containers and a jump line that rivals the best in the country.

The Bike Park also serves as hub for the recently completed Greenway River Trails which encircle the city. Once all the city trails are finished, cyclists can make a complete 80-mile loop around Oklahoma City on paved trails. Shipping containers are used to create a unique gathering place that includes a welcome center and ADA-compliant restrooms.

Bring your own bike; helmets, knee pads and elbow pads are also required for guests using the pump tracks.

Funding for the project is being provided by a grant from the Oklahoma Recreational Trails Program, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Fund (TSET), OG&E, Hydroflask, and several anonymous donors. The project was designed by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, and Burnett Construction is the general contractor for the project. KOM Trails constructed the trails.

Velosolutions Pump Track for Bikes/Skates

Velosolutions, the world leader in paved pump track design and construction, has installed a 15,000 square foot asphalt track featuring seamless paved waves. The largest of its kind in the USA, it includes an integrated timing system that will connect OKC’s track with other Velosolutions pump tracks nationwide for virtual competition. A portion of the funding for the track was provided as a grant from The Recreational Trails Program.

The Momentum Pump Track is a fiberglass mountain bike/BMX course designed with a series of berms, bumps and jumps that allow riders to utilize gravity and body weight to “pump” rather than pedal the course. It is the largest composite bike pump track in the U.S.

A second smaller fiberglass speed ring is located adjacent to the Velosolutions track.
