The 13th Annual OKC Youth Invitational took place Saturday, April 13, on the Oklahoma River in the Boathouse District.

More than 500 youth rowers from five states raced on the Oklahoma River in the 2024 OKC Youth Invitational Regatta on Saturday, April 13. Racing took place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Boathouse District. Hosted by RIVERSPORT, the regatta was free and open to the public; parking was $10 with proceeds used to support youth rowing programs in Oklahoma City. 

Student athletes representing 13 rowing teams from Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas competed on the Oklahoma River in this year’s annual regatta. More than 800 spectators joind us at this year’s event making it the largest OKC Youth Invitational to date. 

Crews competing at the 2024 event include:

  • RIVERSPORT OKC Juniors
  • Dallas Rowing Club
  • Hockaday School (Dallas)
  • St. Mark’s School (Dallas)
  • Tulsa Youth Rowing Association
  • Founders Rowing Club (Dallas)
  • Episcopal School of Dallas

The event is an important warm-up for crews as they get ready to compete at the USRowing Central Youth Championships in May in OKC.

About the event

Started in 2011, this rowing competition began with four teams and has grown to include teams from around the Central Region. Coaches and volunteers run this casual regatta, so novice and varsity crews can gain 2000 meter race experience on the Oklahoma River in preparation for USRowing Central Youth Rowing Championship each May.
