Team OKC Support
Advancing Dreams on the Oklahoma River
Team OKC is a group of loyal individual and corporate contributors who support the OKC-based high performance athletes pursing their Olympic and Paralympic dreams on the Oklahoma River. Membership in Team OKC helps enhance the accessibility of the Boathouse District to all, while providing members special insight into Oklahoma City’s initiatives in the Olympic Movement though exclusive gatherings and special events.
The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics are just around the corner and Oklahoma City rowers are training and challenging themselves with international competition across the world. They need our support to gain the experience needed to reach the podium in Los Angeles and beyond. Housing costs, equipment, travel, nutrition, and competition are some of the key expenses in the OKC formula for international success. Also critical are talent identification initiatives and youth development to ensure Oklahoma children have opportunities to access the world class venue and coaching on the Oklahoma River.
As a result of development of RIVERSPORT’S OKC National High Performance Center and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Site, the pathway to Olympic glory and collegiate opportunity in river sports is taking place right here in Oklahoma City. Team OKC will help ensure that developing athletes have opportunities to access the life-changing resources offered by the Oklahoma River. In the words of two OKC athletes:
“Rowing requires an incredible combination of team work and focusing on self-improvement. It has taught me so much about myself. It also turned me into an incredible athlete. And, it’s inspired me to pursue a collegiate athletic director position when I retire from the sport. I’m very grateful to the OKC Boathouse Foundation and the other sponsors who support our program and make it possible for me to be here.” Michelle Sechser, 2017 World Champion, Lightweight Women’s Double
“We have some of the best training facilities in the country and the community support has been outstanding. I really enjoy it here.” Will Daly, 12-time U.S. National Team member
