Canoe/Kayak
RIVERSPORT offers great canoe/kayak experiences for youth and adults as well as high performance athletes. In June 2024, RIVERSPORT’s whitewater channels were selected as the venue for the Canoe Slalom Events in the LA28 Olympic Games pending approval by the Los Angeles City Council. Today, we are building our programs to get youth engaged in these increasingly popular water sports.
RIVERSPORT is one of the few venues in the world offering both slalom and sprint disciplines. If you’re new to the sport, “sprint” refers to competitive flatwater racing and “slalom” is the whitewater discipline. Kayak cross is the newest Olympic whitewater discipline with athletes launching from a platform above the channels to race. You’ll also find recreational whitewater paddlers on the water fine-tuning their freestyle skills.
Veterans are invited to participate in our Kayak Football League, and High Performance canoe sprint athletes are currently training in Oklahoma City in hopes of making Team USA!
